The English Language Proficiency Test for Pilots (ELPTP) was conceptualised in 2018 by a panel of experienced test builders in collaboration with UPM Holdings (Consultancy and Services) to meet the need for testing the proficiency levels of Aviation English of pilots seeking licensing endorsement. Since then, the ELPTP Center has been endorsed by the Civil Aviation Authority Malaysia (CAAM) as a Test Provider to conduct the English Language Proficiency Test (ELPT) for pilots seeking Malaysian licensing.
The ELPTP Center currently operates the ELPTP in Offline and Online modes.
