| 1. | Who can take the ELPTP? |
| Anyone can take the ELPTP. It fulfils the ICAO language requirement for pilot licensing in Malaysia. | |
| 2. | What am I tested on in each section of the test, and how are the questions constructed? |
| You are tested on listening and speaking skills. The questions are open-ended; answers can be short or extended depending on the question asked. (See Sample Test) | |
| 3. | How often is the test scheduled? |
| The test (see Test Schedule) is held once a week unless otherwise informed. | |
| 4. | Can I appeal the test results? |
| Yes you can, after you have filled in the Appeal Form and paid the appeal fee. The appeal period is valid for the duration of a month after the test is taken. | |
| 5. | Can I retake the test? |
| Yes you can. Register for the test again and make payment. | |
| 6. | Can I request for a reissue of the test results? |
| Yes, you can. Please fill up the Request for Reissue of Result Form and pay the fee. Test results are kept only for two years after the sitting of the test. Courier service charge is added if you wish the results to be couriered to you. Reports are mailed approximately 3 to 5 working days after receipt of your request and payment. | |
| 7. | When should I arrive for the test? |
| You must be at the ELPTP Centre ONE hour before your scheduled test slot. If your test slot is 1000 – 1040 and you arrive at 1045, you would have forfeited your test slot and test registration fee. | |
| 8. | What if I need to cancel my test date? |
| You can cancel your test date via phone call, WhatsApp, or e-mail, and and get a partial (50%) refund if cancellation is made up to 7 working days before the scheduled test date. For example, if the test is on Monday, 17/9, you must cancel by Thursday, 6/9. If the request is not received at least 7 working days in advance, the test fee will not be refunded. | |
| 9. | How do I reschedule my test date? |
| You can reschedule by filling a Reschedule Request Form and sending it via e-mail (elptp@upmholdings.com.my) to the ELPTP Test Centre. The executive officer will call you and inform you of available dates for new test slot. The test fee to reschedule is RM100.00 and must be paid before you can register for another date. To reschedule, you will need to provide your registration number and the full name you used when you first registered. The executive officer will then send confirmation e-mail for your new test date. Rescheduling is allowed only once. If the rescheduled date is not observed, the fee is forfeited. For example, if the test is on Monday, 17/9, you must reschedule by Tuesday, 11/9. If the request is not received at least 4 working days in advance, the test fee will not be refunded. | |
| 10. | How do I get my test result? |
| You can request your result to be mailed to you OR you can collect your result in person from the Center. You will need to call the ELPTP Executive (+60 11 2608 7062) to make arrangements for the date and time of collection. For the ELPTP (Online ) results, candidates can opt to collect their results in person via a drive-through service. This can be done with prior time appointment with the ELPTP Executive of the Test Center (Mr. Haikal 011-2608 7062). | |
| 11. | Can someone collect my result on my behalf from the Test Center? |
| Yes, it can be arranged. He or she must submit a photocopy of his/her ID and a Letter of Authorization from you. | |
| 12. | Where do I park when I come to take the test? |
| You can park in the parking area designated for UPM-MTDC use. | |
| 13. | Is there a difference between the ELPTP Online and the Offline mode? |
| The ELPTP (Online) retains all the features of the ELPTP (Offline). The test format and duration remain the same. The ELPTP (Offline) requires candidates to follow strict SOPs issued by relevant authorities. As for the online test, there are SOPs to follow with regards to online procedures (refer to ELPTP (Online) SOPs for Candidates). |
